Author: Pamela Walker An artist that has done it all be that singing, writing songs or producing. He has tasted success in many roles that he has played and is recognized throughout the world. But lets take a look at his personal life and what he went through when he was young. Barry was born on June 17 1943 in Brooklyn New York. Harold and Edna Pincus were his parents. He is of Russian, Irish and Jewish origins. But tragedy struck early in his life when his parents separated. Barry was just two years old at that time. After that his mother and maternal grandparents took care of him. His grandparents really changed and made a mark on Barrys life. One can say that they were the ones who really helped and inspired him towards music, his first musical instrument the accordion. Irish and Jewish people alike really liked this type of instrument and at that time was really appreciated where he lived. But sadly both his grandparents passed away in the years 193 and 1975.Barry still remembers them and acknowledges the impact they had on his life. Later on his mother remarried and her husband Tim Murphy was a fan of music so he bought different records along with him when he came to live with them. During his puberty days Barry listened to all these tracks and really felt inspired by the power of music. Furthermore his stepfather gifted him a piano for his birthday. This gift lead the transition from accordion to piano for Barry and he started practicing the piano. Afterwards seeing his amazing talent he was invited to perform at parties and different functions. Even though he loved music he knew the importance of a good education and graduated from Eastern District High School which resides in New York City in 1961.After graduating he joined a music college. Three year later in 1964 he married Susan Deixler who he loved very much. But due to the work load and frustration that he felt due to constant contact with music, differences arose between the two and they separated later. But these entire things aside Barry was very successful as a musician, a composer, writer, producer and also an arranger. To consolidate his success he has sold 71 million albums worldwide. Mainly five of his albums were on the list of the best selling albums at the same time! This achievement has only been accomplished by only two other artists Johnny Mathis and Frank Sinatra. He has also won many music awards and has given numerous hit singles and very successful albums. Also he has played the role of a music director for many movies as well. During recent years he performed in Las Vegas in 2005 and enthralled audiences everywhere with his spellbinding and numerous shows.
