The worst part of any relationship is a break-up. Many compare the break-up of a long term relationship to a death. There is a mourning period and steps that you have to go through before you can be ready to go out and start over again.
You may feel numb when you first break-up with someone. It doesn't seem real to you just yet and you are waiting for the other person to call or show up. There does come a time when it finally hits you that the relationship really did end and you want nothing more than to lay in bed and not get up.

For starters, relax and try to let the other person have their space and do not project an emotional clingy neediness or call them constantly asking for reasons why it happened. The last thing you want to do is fall to pieces, give it some time and they may come around.
Not all breakups are permanent. There are times that for whatever reason one of the partners may feel the need to have a "break" from the relationship. Or perhaps they feel that they are being taken for granted, and a break up is their way of trying to get your attention.
In fact more often than not, a breakup is just that, temporary.
