This is due to the fact that the lifestyle of people today is often sedentary. They may get some on the weekends by mowing the lawn or participating in an activity, but the obesity problem is still continuing to grow. Still, though, there is nothing really being done to stop the rise of it or to better educate the people who are most at risk for it. Whether obesity has become the number one killer is still debatable, but it is clear that obesity is a very serious problem, and that it should be addressed, especially when it occurs in childhood. Parents feed their children when they want to eat because they do not want to deprive their children of anything, but they do not realize how dangerous this can be.
If they encourage a child to be overweight or teach that child bad eating habits, obesity can become a lifelong problem for that child. Obesity tends to run in families. This suggests that it may have a genetic component, but poor lifestyle choices and eating habits may perpetuate the cycle of obesity in future generations.
